Writing Week in Review: 9/17-9/24

Kristen Twardowski

Some weeks are odd ones for writing, and this has been one of those weeks for me. I began working on my novel experiment and its 5000 word per week goal as usual then realized that I needed to begin writing a bit differently.

At this point, I have the bones of a first draft. I could claim that the first round of the story has been told. However, since I don’t write in a linear fashion, I know that there are narrative gaps. This week I worked on filling in those spaces with connective tissue. It involved more deconstruction than I anticipated, so I separated out the different POVs and am now in the process of stitching them back together again.

Though it’s an exciting process, I must admit that this stage is reminding me of the point in cleaning the house when everything looks like a disaster. Hopefully it will…

The power of obscurity

neuschwanstein-castle-467116_1280I like obscurity.  It’s a safe place, at least for me.  Tucked away on my little plot of Earth in my little small town that barely rates a pin-point on a global map, that’s what I’m talking about.  We had an event one time that brought in some coastal people from back east to our area, and their sentiment was along the lines of, “Where ARE we??”  I am told that people from New York City think of our nation as two coasts, and the in-between is relatively insignificant.  (You know, things like cows and corn and oil, nothing like Fashion Week or Hollywood.)

Jord Watch Review + Giveaway

Styled by McKenz

A few weeks ago JORD Watches reached out to me. I have followed their Instagram for quite some time and have always loved seeing other bloggers feature their gorgeous wooden watches, so when they asked if I would like to receive a watch to style and review the answer seemed almost inevitable. I have been wearing my watch for a couple of weeks now and am ready to share my thoughts with you!

To begin, I decided to get the Frankie 35 Zebrawood and Navy.  It’s a sleek, gorgeous dark brown watch with a navy face and silver hardware. The best part about this watch is that I was able to get sized right on their website! It came in the mail within five days and arrived in a gorgeous wooden box with two extra links if needed. I was super impressed with the shipping and JORD’s packaging! As…

Being an Indian, wearing bikini on pools & beaches is still a taboo.! We (Indians)still go on beach vacations and look for white skinned bikini wearing ladies …Men for obvious reasons & for ladies; they take them as the next level of our holiday goals!!

Taylor Hill | street style

Fabulous Talk

Lately I really like fashion and I love searching some inspiration for outfits. Mostly I look at pictures on Tumblr or Pinterest. Sometimes I look at pictures of celebs, with the Paris fashion week there were a lot of pictures of stylish people who went to the fashion shows. Of course everyone was better dressed then on normal days and the streets of Paris were full of people with clothes you can only dream off. I wanted to do a new series of the street style of some fashion icons in my opinion. For this blogpost i chose the new Victoria’s Secret Angel : Taylor Hill. I think she’s one of the most beautiful angels ! I think her style is amazing, it’s very all-day/ casual but it’s also very chique and trendy. Here are some pictures of outfits of her I like.
